Citi® PremierPass® Card Review
Sure, good credit can get you some nice perks. But, excellent credit standing can have you sitting comfortably on an American Airlines flight to the destination of your choosing. It’s true. The Citi PremierPass®, with its no blackout dates policy, is your ticket to anywhere in the world; there are even discounts on hotel accommodations. …It’s a smooth ride all the way through.
For the record, this travel rewards credit card doesn’t just allow you to fly with American Airlines, it gives you a pass to, basically, any transcontinental carrier. What’s more, as one of Citibank’s top rated travel cards, the Citi PremierPass® comes with a no pre-set spending limit, which is good news for travelers who may need a little leeway in their spending, and a lost luggage program, which is even better news, especially for those who travel fairly regularly.
With this card offer, you get points for doing what you already do. This airline rewards credit card’s point program was built on the understanding that flying isn’t always easy. So, to ease up your load, Citibank is prepared to award you one point for every three miles flown by anyone whose ticket you buy with the card, and for every three miles that you fly on any of the participating airlines, Citi PremierPass® will award you one ThankYou Point®. Outside of flying, purchases made with this reasonably low interest rate credit card will earn you one point.
As an added incentive for cardholders, for every point that is earned from purchases one point earned from miles flown becomes available. However, it should be noted that out of the possible 100,000 points that can be earned per year, only 50,000 may be ThankYou® flying points.
If within 90 days of opening the account you gather a balance of $300 in purchases, then 10,000 bonus reward points, pending a credit card review, will be deposited into your point reserve.
Points, courtesy of the ThankYou® Network, will remain valid as long as you make at least one purchase every 36 months with the card; points are redeemable for airfare, gift certificates, merchandise, and more.
The card’s 0% introductory interest rate (good for the first twelve months) is only applicable to balance transfers, and cash advances carry a 19.99% minimum cap, meaning the lowest possible APR may never be reached. Even so, the card offers a no annual fee policy, convenient automatic bill payments, and practical programs like lost/stolen card reporting, emergency cash replacement, legal and medical referrals, and up to $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance. Additionally, you can download account statements for your files, and rest easy knowing you are protected by a $0 liability clause on all unauthorized charges. Happy traveling.
